Professional Membership ($130)

Professional membership is designed for licensed or practicing social workers, human service professionals, and community leaders. As a professional member, you’ll enjoy discounted pricing for state, regional, national, and international conferences, along with opportunities to present at the NABSW Annual Conference and share your expertise on a national stage. You’ll gain access to the NABSW Career Center, webinars, online trainings, and Continuing Education Units to help you grow in your practice. In addition, professional members have the chance to take on leadership roles at the local, national, and international levels while connecting with a strong network of Black professionals committed to advocacy, equity, and social change.

Senior Membership ($105)

Senior membership is reserved for retired professionals age 62 and older who wish to remain connected to the work and continue contributing their wisdom and experience. Senior members enjoy discounted pricing for conferences and events, invitations to special gatherings such as our Elders Salute, and recognition as legacy-bearers in the organization. This membership also provides opportunities to mentor students and emerging leaders, while staying connected to advocacy, policy influence, and the community impact that CABSW continues to drive.

Student Membership ($75)

Student membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing social work or related human service fields. As a student member, you’ll gain access to mentorship from experienced social workers, discounted pricing for conferences, and opportunities for leadership within CABSW and NABSW committees. Eligible student members may also apply for book and tuition scholarships to support their academic journey. In addition, student members are invited to participate in webinars, online trainings, and the African Centered Social Work Academy, all while finding a supportive community that helps build confidence, skills, and professional identity.

How do I apply for membership?

Each level has its own registration link. Simply click the “Join Now” button under your category and complete the application form.

Can I pay for my membership online?

Yes. All memberships can be purchased and renewed securely online via GlueUP.

How long does my membership last?

Memberships are valid for one year from the date of registration. Renewal reminders will be sent before expiration.

Do I have to live in Chicago to join?

If you do not live in an area that has a chapter, you are welcome to apply as an individual member through the NABSW website.
